Technisch: Hat mich schon immer bei sourceforge gestört und auch paypal baut da Mist. Niemand ist vom Client her gezwungen einem 301 redirect zu folgen siehe etwa die –max-redirect=0 http-option bei wget. Das darf man nämlich auch manuell auflösen. Das kann nämlich zur Problemen beim Caching führen wenn die Cache-Funktion des Clients die Cookies oder Post Daten nicht mit in die Cache-Entschiedung einbezieht, siehe etwa das XMLHTTP Problem des Micorosoft Windows Internet Explorers der weit verbreitet ist.

If yo do not belive it have a look at the –max-redirect=0 http-option of the wget Command. You are allowed to resolve the redirection manually. This could lead to problems with caching if the cache function of the client is not calculating with cookies or Post Data when deciding to fetch or use locally cached content.
